Julie Defoort studied human biology and biochemistry before specialising in plant biotechnologies and plant bio-protection. It was during her research masters degree that Julie discovered her passion for research and (data) analysis of scientific and technical information. She consolidated this passion through the a master's in Technology Intelligence and Industrial Intelligence from Lille 1 University of Science and Technology.
With her dual scientific competence and economic intelligence, she worked for more than ten years in the biotechnology sector. She has held the positions of scientific and technical documentation manager, technology watch manager and competitive watch manager.
